Independent Review of Invest NI Call for Evidence

The Panel established to conduct an Independent Review of Invest NI has today called for evidence from stakeholders from across Northern Ireland.

The Panel, led by Sir Michael Lyons, has been established to assess Invest NI’s efficiency and effectiveness and its capacity to strategically align with the 10X Economic Vision.

Sir Michael Lyons said:

“As part of my commitment to ensuring all voices are heard during the Independent Review of Invest NI, I am pleased to announce a public call for evidence. This aims to ensure that the views of stakeholders from all sectors and regions of Northern Ireland can be received.

Our call for evidence will provide interested parties with an opportunity to make robust representations in relation to the issues set out in the Review’s Terms of Reference. It is therefore an important first step in developing an empirical evidence base against which the Panel will undertake a robust and analytical assessment of Invest NI. Our call for evidence will be augmented by a comprehensive and wide-ranging programme of stakeholder engagement, which has already commenced and which will be accelerated in the coming weeks and months.

I also recognise that stakeholders may wish to identify issues that relate to Invest NI’s wider operating context. Whilst these contributions are welcome, our primary focus will be to address the specific issues set out within the Terms of Reference. Fundamentally, this will involve an assessment of Invest NI’s efficiency and effectiveness and the extent to which it is aligned with the 10X Economic Vision.

The call for evidence is open until 1st April 2022. I would encourage all stakeholders to have their say and to ensure that their voices are heard.”
